Ribbon cutting opens renovated Action Park

At a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday night, members of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce and city officials opened the recently renovated and improved Action Park, formerly Alliance Skate Park at Lone Star Park.

Josh Abbott Band to open the 2017 Lone Star Music Series at Lone Star Park on June 16

The 2017 Lone Star Music Series at Lone Star Park will kick off on June 16 with a performance by Josh Abbott Band. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m. The concert will begin immediately following the last live race.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie celebrated its 20th anniversary as live Thoroughbred racing opened Thursday to start an event packed weekend with exciting racing, live music, fan giveaways and more.

Two-time state Golden Gloves champion to turn pro

Joel Ambriz, two-time Texas Golden Gloves champion in the 123 pound division announced he is turning professional in May.

The twenty-one year old Grand Prairie resident has been boxing for sixteen years, all with the same coach, Eddie Rangel with the No Excuses Boxing Gym.
