Capital One and Heart of America partner to provide Young Women’s Leadership Academy with innovative Tech Lab

Rather than hosting a normal ribbon cutting ceremony, the staff at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) at Arnold utilized a drone to fly through the ribbon to celebrate the grand opening of its new Technology Lab.

Dallas County Promise: free college tuition for Grand Prairie and South Grand Prairie High seniors

Grand Prairie High School and South Grand Prairie High School have been selected to be in Cohort I of the Dallas County Promise program because of their two early college high school programs and their existing relationships with the Dallas County Community College District.

Over 100 students sign for internships with corporate sponsors

On Wednesday, the Grand Prairie ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department held a Signing Day for CTE students. Unlike traditional athletic or academic signings, the CTE students signed for paid and unpaid internships in a variety of career paths with the District’s more than 60 corporate partners.

Lee Elementary to keep name for now

At the regular school board meeting Thursday night, the Grand Prairie ISD school board moved to not change Lee Elementary’s name.
