Prairie Paws Adoption Shelter Seeks Temporary Foster Homes

Prairie Paws Adoption Center, 2222 W. Warrior Trail, is seeking the public’s help temporarily housing animals while construction crews tear out ceiling panels to install new duct work and knock down walls to complete new kennels. The construction is predicted to begin in May and will approximately take one month to complete. It will not affect the operating hours of the shelter but will temporarily displace over 20 dogs and 20 cats.

5k Run/Walk Through Downtown Grand Prairie

Join Mayor Ron Jensen for the Get Fit Mayor’s “No Frills” 5K and Chase the Chiefs 1-Mile Fun Run through downtown Grand Prairie on Saturday, April 7. Participants will meet at Market Square, 120 W Main St, at 8:15 a.m. for the Fun Run and 8:45 a.m. for the 5K. This is a fun, “no frills” event with no race numbers and no cost to enter.

Grand Prairie Big Event City-Wide Volunteer Day Celebrates Community

Grand Prairie will be the first city in the nation to bring Texas A&M’s legendary Big Event, adopted by 125 university campuses nationwide, to a municipality. The Grand Prairie Big Event was initiated by Councilwoman Jorja Clemson, who learned of the Big Event through her grandson, who attends Texas A&M.

Senator Kelly Hancock announces District 9 Mobile Office hours

Today, Texas State Senator Kelly Hancock announced the March 2018 Mobile Office Hours schedule for Senate District 9. The program is an effort to assist local residents who need help resolving an issue with a state government agency.
