Libraries to host family and kids programs

There are all kinds of things to celebrate at the Grand Prairie Libraries. Join us for any of these great programs for kids. All are free, but space and supplies may be limited.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day: Cupid Shuffle Family Dance Night

Warmack Library: Wednesday, Feb. 7, 5:30-7 p.m.
Fun for the whole family. Come dance the night away with family and friends. Celebrate Valentine’s
Day early with our DJ, photo booth and candy from our Candy Shoppe.

Celebrate National Fly A Kite Day

Shotwell Library: Thursday, Feb. 8, 4-5 p.m.
For grades 1-6. Join us for this special STEAM kite making workshop, and take your handmade kite
home. Supplies are limited. First come, first served.

Celebrate National Poetry Month: Poetry in Motion

Main Library: Wednesday, April 4, 4:30 p.m.
For all ages. Celebrate National Poetry Month with the Dallas Poets Community. In this family friendly
program, you’ll hear a variety of fun poems and have the chance to create and perform one of your own.

Celebrate El Día del Niño

Shotwell Library: Friday, April 27, 5-7 p.m
For all ages. Join us with your family for a celebration just for kids! We’ll have special guests, activities and lots of fun in the Shotwell Gym.

Celebrate Mother’s Day: Mexican Mother’s Day Celebration

Shotwell Library:Thursday, May 10, 4-5 p.m.
For all ages. Come celebrate Mother’s Day in Mexico. Make something special to take home to Mama.
