Weather Service updates wintry weather forecast for Monday-Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued an update for its wintry precipitation forecast for Monday-Tuesday.

Wintry precipitation is possible across North and Central Texas Monday night and Tuesday morning. A strong cold front will move through from north to south late Monday afternoon and Monday night.

Behind the front, light rain will change to freezing rain and sleet as temperatures fall below freezing. Some light snow is possible before all precipitation ends Tuesday morning.

Due to the very cold temperatures, just light accumulations of this wintry precipitation will cause hazardous and difficult travel conditions Monday night through Tuesday. Highs will be in the upper-20s to mid-30s Tuesday. Northerly winds of 10 to 20 mph combined with the cold weather will result in wind chill readings in the single digits and teens.
