Dallas man is year’s first traffic fatality

A Dallas man became the year’s first traffic fatality in Grand Prairie after a collision on westbound Interstate 20 around 9:30 am Monday.

Roger Scott Siverson, 61, of Dallas was pronounced dead after being transported by ambulance to Medical City Arlington.

Police said Siverson was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic westbound on I-20 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to spin out of control, into the path of a tractor trailer combination.

The tractor trailer combination, which was hauling an over sized load, collided with Siverson’s Chevrolet. The driver of the tractor trailer rig was not injured.

Police said the collision remains under investigation.
