With the temperature just above twenty degrees early New Year’s morning, firefighters battled a fire that heavily damaged a house in the 800 block of Timberdale.

Flames were coming out of the house when firefighters arrived at the fire that broke out just after midnight.

Battalion Chief Joe Harvey said fire crews made a quick stop of the fire, confining it to one room of the house.

He said no one was injured, but the family was displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
