IKEA, the world’s leading home furnishings retailer, today opened the doors of its Grand Prairie store to customers at 9 am. Before the doors opened, store manager Matt Hunsicker, Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen, the Swedish Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission Göran Lithell and IKEA U.S. president Lars Petersson were present to welcome the community with a traditional Swedish log-sawing ceremony, bringing good luck to the new store and its guests.

“We are proud to serve the Dallas-Fort Worth community with our unique IKEA shopping experience and affordable home furnishing solutions,” said Matt Hunsicker, store manager. “The community has been so welcoming and today’s grand opening reflects that excitement. You can feel the enthusiasm of our co-workers and customers as soon as you enter the store.”
