Elderly woman dies in Monday’s house fire on NW 14th

The Grand Prairie Fire Department is investigating a house fire in the 200 block of NW 14 on December 4 that killed an 81-year-old woman.

The fire that broke out around 1:45 pm heavily damaged the home.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from a room of the house. The female was found in the room deceased.

The fire appears to be accidental, however, the investigation continues.

The identity of the deceased woman has not been released by the medical examiner’s office pending notification of family.
