Toddler injured after collision with suspected impaired driver

An adult and an approximately 3-year-old toddler were injured when the pickup they were in was struck by a suspected impaired driver.

Officer Joe Castillo, Traffic Investigator, said the collision occurred around 7 pm when a pickup truck southbound on South Center, stopped for a stop sign at Grand Prairie Road and was struck in the rear by a southbound Dodge Charger. The impact of the collision propelled the pickup truck across Grand Prairie Road and into a house used as a business.

No one was in the house at the time of the collision.

The adult and the toddler that were in the pickup, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

After police administered a field sobriety test, the driver of the Dodge Charger was arrested.
