Library Foundation to host benefit wine tasting and silent auction

The Grand Prairie Library Foundation will hold a wine tasting to benefit the Grand Prairie Public Library System. The Tasting will be held at the Grand Prairie Main Library, 901 Conover Dr. at 7 pm on November 16.

Spots are still available, and for a suggested donation of $30 per person, guests will receive refreshments, a tasting of several wines, and commentary from Larry White of AWineKnow.com.

A silent auction will be conducted during the event, offering items such as wine, theater tickets, and more.

The Grand Prairie Library Foundation raises money, solicits donations, develops endowments, and distributes funds to allow the Grand Prairie Public Library system to reach its full potential of service to the community. The Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, entirely separate from the city government of Grand Prairie.

Founded in 1998, its board consists of community leaders from a variety of backgrounds: present and past Library Board and Friends of the Library members and officers, teachers, attorneys, bankers, business people and retirees.
