West Nile Virus Mosquito samples reported – Grand Prairie to ground spray August 9-10

The City of Grand Prairie reports three West Nile Virus positive mosquito samples and will ground spray the following areas for two days on Wednesday, Aug. 9, and Thursday, Aug. 10, depending on weather conditions, starting at 9 p.m.

Area 1 – This area is bound by Woodford Cove Street and Thousand Oaks Court on the north, N. Belt Line Road on the east, E. Shady Grove Road on the south, and S. Gilbert Road on the west.

Area 2 – This area is bound by Polo Road on the north, Matthew Road on the east, the Joe Pool Dam on the south, and Lake Ridge Parkway on the west.

Area 3 – This area is bound by Doryn Drive on the north, Travis Street and Lake Ridge Parkway on the east, Mildred Walker Parkway on the south, and State Highway 360 on the west.

Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors, keep pets inside, and cover fish ponds during those times. Spraying will be rescheduled if wind speeds are above 10 mph or in the event of rain.
