Empty the kennels for Independence Day

Grand Prairie Animal Services, 2222 Warrior Trail, invites everyone to help them empty the kennels to make room for Uncle Sam during this year’s Independence Day by adopting an animal for $20, Saturday, July 1 and Wednesday, July 5 through Saturday, July 8. This is a $50 savings off regular adoption rates.

Prairie Paws wants to make sure Uncle Sam and his hat have plenty of room to celebrate this holiday. An Uncle Sam poster will be displayed at the shelter showcasing the Prairie Paws adoption goal of adopting 80 animals over the course of the week. The more the poster is colored in, the closer Prairie Paws is to reaching their goal.

All animals will be sterilized and micro-chipped. In addition, animals will receive a rabies vaccination, the 5-in-1 and Kennel cough vaccinations for dogs and the 3-in-1 FVRCP vaccination for cats. All adult dogs will be heartworm tested.

Those wishing to adopt must complete an application and be approved before receiving their pets. This offer is valid only for new adoptions.

Prairie Paws will be closed Tuesday, July 4 for the Independence Day Holiday.

The Prairie Paws Animal Shelter’s regular operating hours are:

Tuesday-Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: Noon – 6 p.m.
Closed Sunday and Monday
