Library to host “Poetry in Motion” on April 19 to celebrate National Poetry Month
The Grand Prairie Main Library invites you to come celebrate National Poetry Month with our special guests, the Dallas Poets Community. “Poetry in Motion” is a free program for all ages at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 19. At this family-friendly program, you’ll hear a variety of fun poems, and have the chance to create and perform one of your own.
The Dallas Poets Community formed in 1990 as the Greater Dallas Community of Writers, welcoming both poets and fiction authors. The group eventually split into two groups, and the Dallas Poets Community emerged in 1998. The Community holds twice monthly workshops, as well as a monthly Open Mic Night. Members also conduct workshops and present programs in local schools. Learn more about the Dallas Poets Community at www.dallaspoetscom.org.
