Shelter for flood victims set up in Tony Shotwell Life Center

The City Grand Prairie in partnership with the American Red Cross with assistance from Grand Prairie United Charities has set up a shelter in the Tony Shotwell Life Center, 2750 Graham.

The center has been closed to the public in order to assist residents affected by Friday morning’s flood.

About two hundred individuals evacuated from the Fox Hollow Apartment and the Willow Bend mobile home park have gone to the shelter in the recreation center to seek assistance.

Grand Prairie United Charities provided baby care items, snacks, drinks and coffee to help the displaced residents.

Donations to the flood victims can be made through the Grand Prairie United Charities by calling (972) 262-2014.
